Faster Cooked Rice | Wednesday’s In the Know
I really wish I could take the credit for this one, but Justin Firmignac of Tin Roof in Kahului, Hawaii recommends soaking rice for at least 10 minutes, straining it, then cooking it per usual process. By soaking it, you shave off at least 10 minutes of actual cooking time. So, this means, by the time you cover rice with water, change, pour yourself a glass of wine and are ready to dedicate yourself to the stovetop, rice is ready to be made! In 10 minutes less cooking time, mind you.
