Throwback Thursday: USTA Tennis
As soon as my feet hit the ground, I was being primed for tennis. My entire family plays tennis and my parents were not going to let me be the first to not. At 3, I started taking my first lessons accompanied by my favorite stuffed animal(s) cheering me from the sideline. Looking back now, I’m sure my coach thought the front row seat my “friends” had was “necessary”, but then again, it made me happy and so we continued this process each time I hit the court. From volleying balloons to foam balls and then graduating to tennis balls, I quickly progressed. At the age of 9, I started playing in USTA 10 and under tournaments. Even though I didn’t win any grand-slams, I gave it my all! I continued to play all the way through college and to this day, reflect to the days where my “cheering squad” (stuffed animals) were standing by. Oh my, how time has flown by!
Cheers to starting a new tradition around the table together!
