Food for Thought: Embrace your Beauty! | Wednesday’s In the Know
If someone gave me a dollar for every time I was told how lucky I was to cook and eat for a living, my piggy bank would be overflowing.
Truth of the matter folks, is that I am like you. I’m an athlete, sister, daughter, friend, mentor, coach, leader, hiker, dog lover, and yes, I love to cook and teach. I work hard to stay fit by working out 5 days a week, and being active 7 days a week. I eat healthy, get 8 hours of sleep whenever I can, drink water with lemon, ginger and herbs from my garden, surround myself with positive people, and try my best to daily maintain a healthy balance between work, fitness and play.
We all have challenges in life whether maintaining our weight, trying to figure out how we are going to put a delicious and nutritious homemade dinner on the table, finding and maintaining a healthy balance between kids, life and work, and getting the sleep we need and deserve. Regardless of what your challenge is, it’s important to remember you aren’t alone. Just like you, we each have our own challenges that are unique to each of us. So, before you think you are on your own island and everyone is happier, healthier, prettier, skinnier, smarter, and better than you, think again!
Regardless of your genepool and individual challenges, we each come to the table offering difference experiences, outlooks, viewpoints and beliefs. In fact, companies like Amazon, capitalize on the power of a group’s unique perspectives through brainstorming sessions where new products are imagined and later launched.
Right now, I encourage you to take a good look in your own mirror. Go ahead, do it right now! Look at your reflection and see just how beautiful, handsome, talented, smart, driven, and wonderful YOU are. Think of the difference you make each day whether with your family, company, sports team, friends, or simply with those that come in contact with you each and every day. And, if after all this you still feel like you’re on your own island, hop on the next ferry and join the mainland!
