Wednesday’s In the Know: Summer Market Finds
With the abundance of long summer days and lots of sunshine, the bounty of fresh fruit and produce at our local farmer’s markets is at an all time high! Here is what we should be eating right now!
Veggies:
Beans (fava, lima, snap, green)
Beets
Broccoli
Carrots
Zucchini
Summer Squash
Cucumbers
Lettuce
Potatoes
Peppers
Kale
Radishes
Corn
Collard Greens
Eggplant
Okra
Fruit:
Melons
Currants
Gooseberries
Berries (raspberries (yellow, black and traditional), gooseberries, blackberries, blueberries, etc.)
Tomatoes (all varieties)
Tomatillos
Avocados
Stone fruit (plums, nectarines, peaches, apricots, cherries, etc.)
