Wednesday's In the Know: Mint: 25 (and Counting) Varieties & Tips for Growing
When heading to the nursery for this year’s summer planting, think beyond the traditional & classics. Moroccan Mint, Chocolate Mint, Banana Mint…. these are just a few members of the mint family that maybe, just maybe, will become family favorites!

Culinary vs. Aromatic: With all these varieties, not all of them are meant for cooking so make sure you do a little research to see which varieties are best in the kitchen and those that are best utilized for their aromatic properties.
Growing Regions: Different varieties of mint grow best in different conditions! It’s best that you consult with your local nursery to see what is best in your region!
Growing Conditions: Most mint varieties like full sun – partial shade, moist environments. When planted, they should be grown in pots or contained spaces as they have a tendency to be quite invasive of their space.
