Wednesday's In The Know: Pomegranates...The Basics!
This week we are focusing on glorious, beautiful pomegranates! We kicked off our pomegranate emphasis yesterday in Tuesday’s Tip of the Day as we discussed two sure ways to quickly and efficiently seed pomegranates. Today, I want to talk through selecting and storing them.
Shopping for Pomegranates!
- When looking for a pomegranate, look for ones that are firm to the touch, have little to no blemishes and are heavy for their size. Heavy pomegranates will have more juice yielding juicier seeds! Win-Win!
Storing:
- Store pomegranates in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. If you seed the pomegranates, store excess pomegranate seeds in the freezer for delicious pops of color and a burst of sweet-tanginess.
