Welcome and Thank You!
Welcome and Thank You!
How does one begin a lifelong dream of cooking, writing and blogging in this ever so growing blogosphere? Well, let’s get started and see where we go!
I am beyond thrilled to introduce you to The Table Together. For many years I have had a strong desire to gather people together. Whether it was to form a volleyball team for a local league, collecting toys for The Children’s Hospital Holiday Drive, or gathering friends and family together around the table to enjoy a home-cooked meal, gathering and uniting people together is my second nature. Realizing my potential in the “art of gathering” lead me to countless conversations with friends, family and complete strangers on the power of bringing people together. In fact, there are numerous studies out there that speak to the power of “togetherness” and how it fosters relationships and builds communities. Fast forward many conversations, sleepless nights and hundreds of post-it notes scattered around my home later, I decided to take this concept globally and to share with those whom I may never meet. I think we can all benefit from the feeling that feeds off of being around others.
For those that know me, you will not be surprised that I have taken a life long passion and brought it to life. For those that don’t know me, I hope that you consider me as a friend, committee league member or partner on the tennis court. I hope that you look to me for inspiration and motivation on enjoying life to its fullest, especially at home. Simply put, life is too short to get caught up in our shortcomings. Instead, I encourage you to not focus on your weaknesses but rather highlight and embrace your strengths. When it comes to cooking and entertaining, remember that there is a place for everyone in the kitchen. Someone needs to plan the menu, shop for the ingredients, peel the carrots, scrub the potatoes, tend to the grill, and set the table. And trust me, every role plays a key “ingredient” in the overall outcome.
If there is one message I would like you to take away from this, it’s that I am on your team, I am your friend and I am genuinely dedicated to encouraging, motivating and empowering you to take control of your kitchen and to master every dish to which you aspire. And ultimately, with great confidence, invite your friends and family over to share in the true pleasure of a home-cooked meal. I can’t wait to enjoy this journey with you and to gather around The Table Together.
And last but not least, I want to send a huge thank you to those that made this all possible. First off, I owe everything that I am to my family. Liz, Chris, Mark, Mom & Dad, you mean the world to me! Thanks for putting up with all my photo shoots, when the foods hot nonetheless, helping with dishes, prep, shopping, and our constant conversations around recipes. Thank you especially to my mom, Joy, who was by my side during most of these recipes assisting with food production, cooking and brainstorming. You are an amazing cook and I am so lucky to have your input on every dish that comes from our kitchen. Your honest feedback and belief in my vision is what keeps me going; I will always be thankful to you for that!
To my friend Jenn Stevens in Ohio, a HUGE thank you for bringing my vision to life through my logo, brand and beautiful website. You are beyond talented and I could not thank you enough for your attention to detail, creativity and patience! Tania Shepard from Azzura Photography for the stunning profile images that are showcased throughout my site. They are beyond incredible and capture the “real” me. To Michael Bride for your impeccable artistry with makeup and staying true to “me.” And last but least, to all my friends, neighbors, and complete strangers that simply asked, “what do you do for a living?” I hope that the excitement I shared with you in person comes across through every recipe, article and picture throughout the site. For those that I haven’t met, welcome, thank you for stopping by and I can’t wait to join you in the kitchen and around the table!
Now with that, invite your friends and family over, roll up your sleeves, adorn yourselves with an apron, and let’s set The Table Together!
Cheers to starting a new tradition at home!
Sincerely,
Tiffany Lewis
