All-American Ribs
All-American Ribs
There is something truly All-American about delicious, finger-licking ribs – messier the better of course! This recipe uses store-bought BBQ sauce, which you can find in abundance at any grocery store. Pair that with this simple recipe for cooking fall-off-the-bone kind of ribs and you are in good hands!
Yield: 6 servings
Oven: 325ºF
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 3 hours
3 pounds baby-back ribs
2, 18-ounce containers store-bought BBQ sauce, preferably Stubbs – see kitchen note
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 325º.
2. In a large deep rectangular baking dish, evenly spread 1 cup BBQ sauce to evenly coat. Add ribs to cover in a single layer and generously cover with half of the remaining BBQ sauce. Using clean hands, evenly coat the top, bottom and sides of the ribs.
3. Add the second layer of ribs and repeat with the remaining BBQ sauce. Cover with foil ensuring the foil is not making direct contact with the ribs and sauce.
4. Place in preheated 325ºF oven and allow ribs to cook for 3 hours, or until cooked through and sauce is bubbling.
5. Remove from oven and allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
Kitchen Note: My personal favorite BBQ sauce is Stubb’s BBQ sauce and depending on your mood you can go from original to sweet heat, sticky sweet, spicy, hickory bourbon, honey mesquite, and honey pecan. I am more of an original kind of gal but honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the above!
