Garlic Bread

$1.00

Personally speaking, garlic bread with fresh pasta is like peanut butter and jelly. One must be enjoyed with the other! Making fresh garlic bread is so easy to do and tastes exceptionally better than the store-bought variety. But why limit yourself to pasta night when garlic bread can also be just as delicious with soup and salads!

Yield: 4 – 6 servings

Oven: 375ºF

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

1 large loaf Italian bread (approximately 4x11-inches) cut in half horizontally

3 garlic cloves, minced

1/3 cup melted unsalted butter

1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Method:

1.   Preheat oven to 375ºF.

2.   In a small saucepan, add butter and allow to melt. Remove from heat, add garlic cloves and stir to combine. Using a pastry brush, generously brush both pieces of bread to evenly coat. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese to cover and place cheese side facing up on a rimmed baking sheet.

3.   Place in preheated 375ºF oven and allow to bake until lightly golden in color, cheese has melted and crust is crispy, approximately 15 – 20 minutes.

4.   Remove from oven, cut into desired size slices and serve while hot.

Kitchen Note:  Consider adding other spices, liker Herbs De Provence, or even fresh parsley, to your melted butter for a little color and to act as a flavor enhancer. When it comes to garlic bread, there is no right or wrong way so have fun and try to save a few pieces for your guests!
