Ranch-Style Dip
Ranch-Style Dip
Ranch might be my favorite dip but quite often I don’t buy it given the caloric intake. This recipe is lighter on the calories but not on flavor. It’s also delicious with hot wings, as a garnish for chili or even tossed with your favorite salad greens. Whether you dip, dunk or toss, this recipe is versatile and can be enjoyed in numerous ways.
Yield: 1 1/2 cups
Oven: N/A
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: N/A
1 1/4 cup low-fat sour cream
1/3 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
1 tablespoon finely chopped dill
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Method:
1. In a medium size bowl, add sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, apple cider vinegar, chives, dill, and salt. Whisk to combine and adjust seasoning to taste with salt.
2. For best results, chill before serving.
Kitchen Note: Ranch dressing can be made with or without herbs and lemon juice can be used in place of the apple cider vinegar but start with a teaspoon and work your way up. Dip can keep up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
