Pineapple Almond Butter and Banana Smoothie
Pineapple Almond Butter and Banana Smoothie
Always on the quest for a delicious and nutritious smoothie, this combination caught my eye. Not only is it dairy-free, it’s packed with “good-for-you” nutrients that will keep you satisfied straight till your next mealtime. Plus, kids love it too!
Yield: 1 large serving
Oven: N/A
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: N/A
1 frozen banana, cut into 1-inch chunks
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons almond butter
Method:
1. In a blender, add banana, pineapple, almond milk, and almond butter. Blend on low until running smoothly, then on high until smooth.
2. Adjust with more sweetness if desired, and serve.
Kitchen Note: For a little sweetness, add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or honey. Consider adding a 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger for a little “bite.” If you don’t have frozen bananas or pineapple, use fresh fruit but add crushed ice starting with 1 cup. Keep in mind that using frozen fruit keeps your smoothie from watering down as it sits.
