Hard Apple Cider Sangria
Hard Apple Cider Sangria
Everyone loves sangria but it isn’t often you find one without wine and in the fall. This sangria utilizes the abundance of apples and offers a delicious alternative for those that don’t care for wine, or simply put, want to try something a little different.
Yield: 10 cups
Oven: N/A
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: N/A
4 1/2 cups apple cider, best quality possible
3/4 cup brandy, best quality possible
4 1/4 cups hard apple cider
1 red apple, like honey crisp or Pink lady, thinly sliced 1/4-inch thick
1 granny smith, thinly sliced 1/4-inch thick
Method:
1. In a large pot, add apple cider, brandy and hard apple cider. Add apple slices and bring to a simmer.
2. Serve hot with a few apple slices in each glass.
Kitchen Note: Apples will get soft the longer they sit in the liquid. If you aren’t serving the cider right away, add the apple slices right before serving or use to garnish each glass. Even if they sit in the liquid for longer than anticipated, they are still quite tasty.
